On May 12 a ransomware attack began in Europe and spread quickly throughout the world to computers in more than 150 countries. The malware affects all recent Windows operating systems. A security patch has been available since March. Many non technical users who disable updates on Windows are not running a patched system and might be vulnerable to the malware.
