Malware was found in the 32-bit version of CCleaner 5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud 1.07.3191.

A free and open source alternative to CCleaner is BleachBit. The software is available for Windows and Linux. Linux users should use their distro repository to install the software.

Users should remember that this type of software is not an anti-virus or anti-malware utility but is a disk space cleaning and optimizing tool to remove unwanted files.
