About Fixed Wireless

Fast-Air Wireless Internet works by transmitting signal back and forth between our
Access Points (APs)
and the Subscriber Unit (SU) at the customers location. The Access Point is placed
on a tower and the Subscriber Unit is mounted to the customers house, pole, or other building.
The Access Point then communicates with the Subscriber Unit and they transfer data back and forth.
The Access Point is linked to a data line to the Internet. Data rates are capable of over 20Mbits/sec
between the AP and the SU.
Fast-Air High-Speed Internet service is NOT conventional 802.11 protocol or WiFi,
but rather a proprietary method of broadband delivery by means of low-power microwave transceivers.
It is not a mobile service, but intended for reception at a fixed point (homes, offices, etc.).
Our equipment uses proprietary authentication based on MAC address and alphanumeric base ID,
and over the air packet scrambling to provide a secure, non-intrusive, quality service.
The SU must have line of site to the Access Point for units used in town. The rural SU can transmit
through some trees, but cannot transmit through hills. Ideal conditions are line of site with no
obstacles in between.
